What We Do
We are families in the largest school district in Texas rising up to promote the success of each and every student.
At the HISD Majority, we support raising expectations for our kids, challenging them to be the greatest students they can be, and pushing for them to have the best education possible through a rigorous, differentiated, well-rounded, and deeply innovative curriculum.
Results
HISD families are rising up to protect everything we have achieved since 2023.
Test results across grades and subject areas are up double digits. Teacher vacancies are practically zero. Teacher pay beats the state average. The budget is balanced. The schools and the students who attend them that were long neglected by HISD leadership and our city are FINALLY getting the attention and support they need and deserve. We don’t want to roll back to the status quo – we want to stay the course.
Thanks to HISD’s comeback, our kids are now excelling. Students across the district have dramatically closed or erased performance gaps with the state. Gaps between HISD’s higher-income schools and lower-income schools are narrowing. This is nothing short of extraordinary – we demand nothing less for our students and refuse to return to mediocrity.
